The Glass Study Centre is organising an International Conference on Monday 28 June at 2.30 pm (CET), live on YouTube, dedicated to the ongoing exhibition at LE STANZE DEL VETRO featuring 20 invited speakers, with Pierre Rosenberg as special guest
The international conference The Glass Ark. Animals in the Pierre Rosenberg Collection, organized by the Glass Study Centre, is scheduled on Monday 28 June 2021 at 2.30pm (CET) live on the Giorgio Cini Foundation YouTube channel.
Twenty invited speakers, including art historians, curators, artists, designers and glass masters, will address the importance of the glass animal production in Murano. Starting from the extraordinary works featuring in the ongoing exhibition, the conference will also focus on other works, equally representative, which over time have created a 'zoomorphic anthology', linked with other disciplines complementary to the glass art.
The contributors will account not only for the pieces on display at LE STANZE DEL VETRO but also for considerable archival materials such as vintage photos, drawings and projects from the general Glass Archives of the Institute of Art History of the Giorgio Cini Foundation. Opening remarks by Pierre Rosenberg about glass collecting, and about the birth and formation of his own outstanding collection of glass animals from the 1930s to today.
