The exhibition celebrates Paolo Venini and his Murano glassworks, offering a captivating journey that blends innovation with tradition. It showcases how Paolo Venini reinterpreted classic Murano glass techniques, elevating them to new artistic heights. The display also emphasizes his numerous collaborations with world-renowned artists and designers.

Following major exhibitions on the history of Venetian glass, the Vitromusée Romont presents Venini & C. 1934-1959. Le génie verrier à Murano, a show celebrating Paolo Venini and his Murano glassworks.

Curated by Elisa Ambrosio and Astrid Kaiser, the exhibition spans over thirty years of production, revealing Venini’s central role in the transformation of 20th-century glass art.

The display follows a thematic and chronological path, showcasing Murano techniques reimagined by Venini—such as murrine, zanfirici, incisi and opaline glass—and highlighting his many collaborations with prominent artists and designers including Gio Ponti, Riccardo Licata, Tobia Scarpa, Ken Scott, and Charles Lin Tissot. Venini’s innovative yet tradition- rooted approach led to the creation of original works, often exhibited at the Venice Biennale and Milan Triennale, and widely acclaimed around the world.
