Don’t miss the catalogues of the two latest exhibitions dedicated to the presence of Murano glass at the Venice Biennale.
If you wish to revisit the two most recent exhibitions at LE STANZE DEL VETRO, take advantage of the special promotion on the catalogues 1912–1930 Murano Glass and the Venice Biennale and 1932–1942 Murano Glass and the Venice Biennale, available together at the special price of €80.
The first catalogue, accompanying the exhibition that opened the new exhibition cycle curated by Marino Barovier, traces the presence of Murano glass in the early editions of the Venice Biennale. From 1912 onwards, glassworks began to take part in the Venice Biennale with increasing impact and continuity, presenting their works alongside projects by artists such as Hans Stoltenberg Lerche, Vittorio Zecchin, Teodoro Wolf Ferrari and Umberto Bellotto.
The second catalogue focuses on the period from 1932 to 1942, from the inauguration of the Venice Pavilion to the last Biennale edition before the Second World War. During these years, Murano glassworks were able to exhibit in a dedicated decorative arts venue, gaining official recognition for the quality of their production. The catalogue documents collaborations between glassmakers and leading figures from the art and design world of the time, including Venini with Carlo Scarpa, Barovier Seguso Ferro with Flavio Poli, and Dino Martens with Salviati, Successori Rioda and
Aureliano Toso, alongside other important glassworks such as AVEM, Cirillo Maschio, Ulderico Moretti, Fratelli Toso and VAMSA.
