On Thursday 10 February 2022 at 2.30 pm the international conference Tapio Wirkkala e Toni Zuccheri will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini.

The symposium is organized by the Glass Study Centre and will include contributions from Italian and international speakers who will discuss in depth the different aspects of these two strong personalities, from their formative training to the versatility of their creative production. The speakers will assert the importance of the talent of the two artists who were the lifeblood of innovation in the art of glassmaking in Murano as well as in the wider international artistic context.

The conference will open with the welcome address by Luca Massimo Barbero, Director of the Institute of Art History, followed by an introduction by Carla Sonego. Rosa Barovier Mentasti and Vittorio Linfante will address Tapio Wirkkala’s work, while Orsola Zuccheri, Rosa Chiesa and Pino Usicco will focus on Toni Zuccheri. Closing remarks by film-maker Marta Pasqualini, who will present her documentary Pezzi sparsi, produced in 2016 as a tribute to Toni Zuccheri and currently on show also at LE STANZE DEL VETRO.
