The International conference FontanaArte. House of Glass is scheduled on Tuesday 31 May 2022 at 9.30am (CET) at the Giorgio Cini Foundation. The conference will focus on the creative catalogue of its four great artistic directors: Gio Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti.

The conference will open with the welcome address of Luca Massimo Barbero, Director of the Institute of Art History of the Giorgio Cini Foundation, followed by the introduction by curator Christian Larsen on FontanaArte in perspective: the poetics of plate glass. The invited speakers, Francesco Librizzi, Massimiliano Locatelli, Rosa Barovier Mentasti, Cecilia Rostagni and Lucia Mannini will outline a new interpretation of the historical input by FontanaArte, also proposing critical reflections on the identity of the brand and on the excellence of the many forms of glass processing, recounting some particularly significant examples that highlight its many different possible uses.
