The catalogue of this exhibition is an essential volume for understanding the post-war evolution of Bohemian glass, its transition from applied craft to a privileged material for the creation of sculptural works of art. A unique case on the world art scene, this avant-garde group of artists from Bohemia focussed their research on studying the potential of glass, developing innovative technological processes to create modern artistic forms and conceptions. In this book, Václav Cigler, Vladimír Kopecký, Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová, René Roubíček and Miluše Roubíčková, six artists born in Bohemia in the first decades of the last century, tell us an extraordinary and as yet little-known chapter of contemporary art through their works.
