La Cristalleria Nason & Moretti

24,00

Exhibition catalog curated by Cristina Beltrami, Matteo Fochessati, and Anna Vyazemtseva

Founded in 1923 by Ugo Nason and still managed by the family today, the glassworks Nason & Moretti (now NasonMoretti) stands out for its rich heritage of creations. Among these, the Francesca tableware set, designed in 1928, was selected by the Genoese notary Angelo Fasce to accompany L'Autarca, an innovative multifunctional table patented in the 1930s and now housed at the Wolfsoniana Museum.

The collaboration between the Murano-based glassworks and the Genoese museum resulted in the exhibition La Cristalleria Nason & Moretti and its catalog, which trace the glassworks’ activity from its inception to the mid-1950s. During this period, the Lidia tableware set, donated by architect Philip Johnson to MoMA in New York, received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award. The exhibition and catalog present a vibrant dialogue between the glassworks’ production and the diverse collection of the Wolfsoniana.
