I colori della Luce|Angelo Orsoni e l’arte del mosaico
There is a unique factory in Venice, founded in 1888, which has produced mosaics for the entire world for over a hundred years and has handed down its manufacturing secrets through four generations, from father to son. The mosaic tiles of the “Angelo Orsoni” can be found in the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, San Vitale in Ravenna, and the Buddha&s golden Singhabury in Thailand, among other places. They are handcrafted using ancient techniques first developed by Byzantine masters and later acquired by the artists of Murano. The volume offers an exploration into the world of mosaics from a historical and artistic point of view, and above all from a technical and conservationist standpoint.
