The book, only photographic, presents the glass works of the Japanese artists Fujiko Enami and Ushio Konishi exhibited at the Museo d'Arte Orientale in Venice in 2015. Following the fil rouge of Expo Milano 2015, the reader can admire glass miniatures that evoke sweets in the shape of fruit and vegetables (furidashi), together with sake cups, small containers for the tea ceremony, cages, boxes for writing instruments (suzuribako) and containers for medicinal herbs (inrō).
“Glass Delights” aims to be a bridge between the Venetian and Japanese artistic traditions: the works of Enami and Konishi are in fact made with the techniques of murrine and filigree.
