Glass. Arte del vetro oggi
The volume is the catalog of the exhibitions “Art of glass today in Italy” (Milan, Villa Necchi Campiglio, 27 November 2014 – 6 January 2015) and “Glass. Art of glass today” (Luvigliano di Torreglia (Padua), Villa dei Vescovi , 25 May 11 September 2016).
To tell the artistic ferment that characterizes the glass scene today in Italy, artists were called who integrate their works with glass, others for whom glass represents the main means of expression, designers, architects and art workshops: Melvin Anderson , Jean Blanchaert, Lucio Bubacco, Michele Burato, Simone Cenedese, Simone Crestani, Franco Deboni, Alessandro Diaz de Santillana, Jan Fabre, Simona Favrin, Hugh Findletar, Anna Gili, Ria Lussi, Alessandro Mendini, Massimo Micheluzzi, Ritsue Mishima, Nicola Moretti , Leonardo Nava, Bruno Pedrosa, Tristano di Robilant, Maria Grazia Rosin, Silvano Rubino, Laura de Santillana, Marina and Susanna Sent, Silvano Signoretto, Claudio Tiozzo, Giorgio Vigna, Andrea Zilio. Very different from each other for cultural roots, technique, poetics and function, these works tell the contemporary creative variety in the creation of glass, from sculpture to lighting, from figurative and informal works in blown glass, solid glass, glass lamp, in fusion and molded glass, to works in which glass is combined with other materials, such as iron and wood.
