In 1992, he created his first works using glass as a material, and since then he has worked tirelessly in the furnaces of Murano. In 2009, he was featured in the Venice Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale with his exquisite glass pieces. In 2011, a solo room was dedicated to him at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris during the exhibition Verre à Venise – 3 artistes, 3 visions – Cristiano Bianchin, Yoichi Ohira, Laura de Santillana. In 2017, he received the Glass in Venice Prize. This text retraces the artist’s career on the occasion of the acquisition of his archive by the Glass Study Centre of the Institute of Art History at the Giorgio Cini Foundation.
