“Blown into shape: there’s glass for everyone!” is our spring theme for the educational project “Glass...across the seas!”, developed for the exhibition “Glass from Finland in the Bischofberger Collection”. All educational activities are free of charge. Booking is required.
5-10 year olds (play school and primary school)
Objective: to show pictures of Finnish nature and compare them with some of the exhibited works; recognise the natural characteristics that inspired the design of artworks (5-8 year olds); illustrate some basic glass-making techniques (9-10 year olds).
Activities: welcome, watch a short film on Finnish nature, exhibition visit, creative workshop using oil paints.
11-13 year olds (junior secondary school)
Objective: to grasp the techniques that shape the glass, recognise the inspiring elements that triggered the designers’ imagination as well as the relationships with the protagonists.
Activities: welcome, visit the exhibition with the support of tablets to involve students in the drawing of contents; creative workshop - glass painting.
14-19 year olds (secondary school)
Objective: to grasp the meaning of an exhibition acquired from a private collection; understand the historical and cultural background of the displayed artworks; highlight the inspiration behind the design of the exhibited works.
Activities: welcome, visit exhibition with the support of tablets to involve students in the drawing of contents by means of videos and photographs.
