On occasion of 'Vittorio Zecchin: Transparent Glass for Cappellin and Venini', LE STANZE DEL VETRO announces its new activity programme with guided tours for adults and workshops for children, curated by Artsystem
The activities for families will resume at LE STANZE DEL VETRO for the show 'Vittorio Zecchin: Transparent Glass for Cappellin and Venini' with an exceptional SUNglassDAY – Transparency special on 15 October: a multi-step guided tour taking in all the transparent designs on the Island of San Giorgio, from Zecchin’s delicate blown-glass vases to Tintoretto’s Last Supper with the clear glass Reinassance vases that inspired Zecchin, to the multi-coloured transparent bricks in the Qwalala site-specific installation by Pae White, to Michelangelo Pistoletto’s works Contatto and Love Difference on show in the Abbey of San Giorgio Maggiore (in collaboration with Arte Continua and Benedicti Claustra). On October 13, the glass master Niclo Zuin will be the special guest of a new Fuso-Fuso!! event series - the meetings with experts in the history and techniques of glassmaking.
On Saturday 14 and on Sunday 22 October, there will be a special workshop for adults: Qwalala: flows, transparencies and thresholds, a tour through Pae White’s installation, to foster the visitors’ impressions through learning more about the material and the various shapes.
All the educational activities are curated by Artsystem. Free of charge, upon booking through the toll-free 800 662477 (Mon – Fri from 10am to 5pm) or artsystem@artsystem.it
