The new educational activities and free guided visits to LE STANZE DEL VETRO will resume in September on the occasion of the ‘The M.V.M. Cappellin Glassworks and the Young Carlo Scarpa 1925-1931’ exhibition (10 September 2018 – 6 January 2019). All the educational activities are curated by Artsystem.
On the occasion of the second Venice Glass Week, in addition to the special opening on Wednesday 12 September, LE STANZE DEL VETRO will offer free guided tours without booking, from 13 to 16 September at 5 pm in Italian and on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 also at 12 noon in English.
On 16 September at 4 pm, there will also be a special SUNglassDAY - the Sunday appointment for families - with a visit to the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, including the exhibition on the Cappellin glassworks, and ‘Qwalala’, the site-specific installation by American artist Pae White.
The usual guided tours of the exhibition at LE STANZE DEL VETRO - free and with no need for booking - will resume on Saturday 22 September, every Saturday and Sunday, at new hours: at 12 noon in English and at 4 pm in Italian.
The SUNglassDAYs programme is rich in new additions: meetings are planned on Sunday 4, 11, 18 and 25 November, always at 4 pm, each focusing on a different subject, along with a special SUNglassDAY on Sunday 14 October.
Following this, there are two workshops dedicated to adults entitled 'Qwalala Flussi, transparencies and thresholds', on Sunday 14 and Saturday 20 October at 3pm.
The three Fuso-Fuso!! meetings, scheduled on 26 October, 16 and 30 November at 5 pm, will feature experts in glass history and glass making techniques as special guests.
Finally, the educational programme for the 2018/2019 school year will be presented to teachers at LE STANZE DEL VETRO on Wednesday 26 September afternoon.
