On the occasion of the exhibition 1948-1958 Murano Glass and the Venice Biennale, free guided tours return, offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about the world of contemporary artistic glass, through its history, techniques, artists and key figures.
Starting from 25 April, free guided tours take place every weekend, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the exhibition dedicated to the presence of Murano artistic glass at the Venice Biennale.
Led by an expert guide, you will discover the artists, techniques and key protagonists who shaped the history of contemporary Venetian art glass. Tours are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays, at 11am in English and 4pm in Italian.
It is also possible to book a guided visit – for individuals or private groups up to 20 people – on any other day (except on Wednesdays, when the exhibition is closed to the public) at least two days in advance of the requested date.
Special themed guided tours are scheduled on the last Saturday of the month, offering an in-depth look at some of the artists and furnaces active between 1948 and 1958.
The first event, scheduled on Saturday 30 May at 4 pm, will be dedicated to the life and work of Vinicio Vianello, a Venetian artist and designer who devoted his career to the study and experimentation of glass and other materials, and who exhibited his works at the Venice Biennale.
The second appointment, taking place on Saturday 27 June at 4pm, will be dedicated to Archimede Seguso, one of the most celebrated glass masters of the twentieth century, whose artistic legacy is now preserved by Seguso Vetri d’Arte.
On Friday, 12 June at 5pm, visitors are invited to take part in a free public event with Simone Cenedese, who has been producing artistic glass objects and chandeliers for over thirty years at the glassworks that bears his name. During this special occasion, participants will enjoy a unique and immersive experience exploring glassmaking techniques, iconic designs, and the stories of the furnaces that have shaped Murano's centuries-old glassmaking tradition.
