A Kaleidoscope is an optical instrument using mirrors and glass fragments to create a multiplicity of signs and geometric patterns.

For her kaleidoscope, Lilli Doriguzzi chose to use cobalt-blue glass, typical of the Murano glassmaking tradition, containing white X and Y letters, coupled so as to form groups of XX and XY, representing the male and female genders.

Kaleidoscopio tells us about the total randomness and mutability of relationships, and the unpredictability of events. While the origin of the term alludes to the observation of beautiful pictures, the physical experience of the Kaleidoscope results in an ironical twist of fate.
